The Hytera BD615 Radio handset is a UHF digital portable radio. It's a rugged radio for harsh environments. In the box is the manual, the radio itself, a battery, a clip, a strap, and of course there's an antenna. There is also a desk charger and power supply.
Examining the BD615 radio. It's a smallish radio but it's very robust. There is no display on this particular model, there's a PTT on the left hand side or a push-to-talk for the button below that; on the right hand side is a section where you can have headphones, microphone and two-way communications and even USB. The radio has an on and off and a channel select, and audio so you can hear which channel you're on without actually looking at the radio which is an important aspect for some customers. This radio is nice to hold in the hand as well. It's light for analogue and digital. With innovative design the BD615 has a better performance than many analogue radios when it's in digital mode. Excellent reception sensitivity means the effective range for communication can be extended.

The BD615 features a bold two colour design and is tested to meet military standards 810G including shock, vibration, high and low temperature and humidity. The IP66 dust and waterproof design guarantees the devices reliability across different environments, and with digital encoding and correction technology the human voice is transmitted clearer without noise even over greater distances; this is a new experience of the world of improved audio quality.
On the front of the unit there's a LED and that LED will be red for transmit and green for receive. One of the important features about the BD615 is that there are two batteries available for this two-way radio; in digital mode this unit can work up to 16 hours with 1500 milliampere per hour battery, which is the standard battery as supplied. There is an extended battery of 2000 milliamperes per hour which will operate for up to twenty two hours in 5:5:90 mode.
Other features include that it's reliable and durable, it's compliant with MIL standard 810G, and IP66, there's an adopted digital encoding and error correction module. BD615 has the ability to avoid signal interference on the same frequency.
DMR Signaling: With DMR signaling transmitting group call, private call and call with PTT ID become quite easy. There's a repeater mode operation as well, utilizing the DMR tier two repeater to extend your communication range.
Channel number announcements help users tou switch channels quickly and correctly even when they can't see the radio. There's a VOX feature; this feature allows you to activate the radio and microphone via your voice volume and frees the users hand from having to press PTT. There's a scanning feature; this allows the BD615 listening to communication activities on other channels. There are a number of accessories available for this unit, such as an EHM15a which is D style earpiece with inline PTT and Mic that has a VOX switch on it; there's an EHM18a which is a C style earpiece with inline PTT and mic, again with a VOX switch; there's an ESM12 earbud with PTT and a mic, again with a VOX switch; an EAM12 earbud with PTT on mic, with VOX; an EAM13 two wire surveillance earpiece again with a VOX switch; there's an ACM01 PTT and mic only with three and a half mil jack which is IP54 rated; there's an ESO1 receive only earbud; an ESO2 receive only surveillance earpiece; an EHO1 receive only C style earpiece; an EHO2 receive only ear hook speaker; there's a PC76 data programming cable which might be important to you if you want to set things up in different ways; an SM08M3 remote speaker microphone with 3.5 mil audio jack; there's an SM26M1 remote speaker microphone which is IP54 with a 2.5 mil audio jack; there's an NCN019 a washable nylon chest pack which is easy to carry; there's an NCN011 which is a nylon carrying jacket for this unit; the optional BL2018 2000 milliampere lithium ion battery is readily available; there's also a six unit charger an MCL19 BD50X multiple unit charger; there's a CHV09 vehicle adaptor and lastly the stubby antenna 400 to 470 megahertz; an AM0345H13.
So there's a wide range of accessories; it's always important to consider things like this before you've bough the radio and then you need those particular accessories to operate the radios successfully and this is why we mention them in this short overview.
The radio has 48 channels and three zones capacity. The channel spacing is twenty five or twelve and a half kilohertz, and the operating voltage is 7.2 volts. The standard battery power is 1500 milliamperes per hour and it is made with lithium ion technology. The battery life for analogue and digital is 11 hours for analogue and 17 hours for digital. The weight of this unit which can be important to some users is 240 grams and the dimensions are 108 x 54 x 29 millimetres. Importantly the audio power output is half a watt.
On the transmission side of things the VHF high power output is five watts and the VHF low power is one watt. The UHF high power is four watts, and the UHF low power is also one watt. Regarding dustproof and waterproof protection this radio is IP66 standard.
