Hytera is a brand of radio that's been around a while and today we're looking at the PD485 UHF digital portable radio. So, let's take a quick look at the Hytera PD485 UHF and there's also a VHF digital portable radio available too. Firstly this radio feels very chunky in your hands and very well made. There is a display on this model and a decent keyboard. It's a digital mobile radio and analogue of course so you can use this with analogue radios if you already have them.

On the top of the radio is an on and off control; a channel selector on the left hand side; there is also the important man-down button that many people use featured on nearly every radio these days. The radio weight is not bad actually, bearing in mind how rugged it is at 308 grams; dimensions are by 55 by 37 millimetres; for power output VHF high power is 5 watts VHF low power is 1 watt and UHF high power is 4 watts and UHF low power is 1 watt. Importantly the audio output is half a watt so if you need a loud audio this might be the radio for you.
